With extensive experience in customer-focused general management, Stu is dedicated to continuously improving the customer experience.

Joanna Beckford

Jo is responsible for running the administrative side of the business for FMS, including scheduling jobs, bookings, looking after suppliers, invoicing/accounts and ensuring all our software solutions are operating as expected.
Jo keeps the ‘behind the scenes’ team on task and in check, ensuring the smooth running for all: customers, suppliers and the FMS team family. Also affectionately known as ‘Camp Mother’, Jo is an integral part of the team.

Joe Nicolle, with a career spanning since 1983 in the machinery servicing industry, brings a treasure trove of knowledge and experience to FMS. Before joining our team, Joe honed his expertise in Melbourne, where he ran a successful business focused on food machinery servicing for three decades. His journey has not just made him proficient but a legend when it comes to understanding the ins and outs of food machinery.
At FMS, Joe is the mastermind behind our specialised knowledge, ensuring on-going training of the team & advising in tricky situations, using his vast experience. He's our "Go-to-Guy" for anything particularly perplexing or intricate related to food machinery - if there's something Joe doesn't know, it's probably not worth knowing.
Joe is passionately committed to the growth and development of our technicians. He leads our training programs, imparting his vast knowledge and ensuring our team is at the forefront of the latest technological advancements and processes. And if you're fortunate, you might find Joe right there beside our technicians, ‘on the tools’, offering his invaluable experience firsthand to solve your challenges.

Simon Scott
Head Electrician | Service Technician

As a fully qualified electrician with over 30 years in the electrical industry, Simon has in later years gained valuable experience working in the food equipment realm. Now fully focussed on the food specific machinery sector, his knowledge and experienced constantly delivers quick diagnoses and efficient results.
As a senior and key member of the team, Simon is also often honing the skills of our younger technicians coming through the ranks. Known for ‘getting it right’ he takes pride in achieving at a high level of workmanship. Simon leads from the front and is our “Go-to-Guy” for all the tricky electrical work that steps slightly past the food machinery arena.

The Mobile Tech Team
Electrical | Mechanical | Refrigeration Technicians
Our mobile team of qualified technicians is out daily installing, maintaining and repairing all manner of food machinery challenges. We also take care of plumbing, gas and even new stainless-steel fabrication or challenges that may present along the way. We also have builder who can take care of small remedial or modifications related to commercial food equipment.
With a fleet of fully equipped mobile vans and workshop ready for the modifications, fabricating and the more serious repairs, we have all your bases covered.
Our team is a great mix or age and experience, fully qualified technicians who are also developing apprentice technicians, as we know the value in continuing to grow these specialist skills through constant training. Developing these skills is essential to us being able to continuously deliver our efficient services.
Our team is the secret to our success, as great people make a great business. We regularly get praise for our friendly, approachable and knowledgeable team, who always have our clients’ needs front of mind.
Team culture is critical, and we simply won’t hire anyone who doesn’t complement the existing team. While we have specialists in all key areas, often all the teams experience and skills are needed. That is one of the things that makes FMS such a good place to work; the fact that we all work together as a tight team and help each other get results. A great team, achieving together.

Jason Rodan
Refrigeration & HVAC Manager | 027 254-0107
Jason is a highly experienced professional with an impressive twenty-four years of expertise to the refrigeration and HVAC industry, working across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in New Zealand. His all-rounded proficiency ensures top-notch service in all aspects of HVAC systems.
His technical skills are exceptional, with a solid track record in fault diagnosis, panel wiring, and the construction and installation of systems. Jason's adeptness at interpreting and applying project specifications and drawings ensures the smooth execution of projects. As a communicator and collaborator, Jason has proven his worth by working effectively with builders, project managers, and other professionals to meet project goals.
His qualifications include a Level 4 HVACR trade certificate and limited electrician's practising licences A and B. He is currently advancing towards a full electrical practising licence, underlining his commitment to ongoing learning and industry compliance.
Jason's work ethic is guided by a deep understanding of industry regulations and standards, prioritising compliance, quality, and safety. His organisational skills, team spirit, and ability to deliver under pressure are complemented by excellent communication and a positive outlook. Dedicated to workplace health and safety, Jason's approach not only enhances his professional standing but also creates a secure environment for colleagues and clients.

Chris Molenaar
Managing Director | Owner
Food Machinery Services was established by Chris with a view to provide a range of industries a way to better manage and maintain their food machinery.
Hailing from Wairarapa, Chris Molenaar founded Petone Engineering Limited (PEL) in 2004 as a two-man operation. Under his leadership, PEL has grown into one of New Zealand's most respected companies in structural steel and seismic strengthening.As a qualified Fitter & Turner with a solution-focused mindset, Chris identified the need for a dedicated, high-quality service provider in the food machinery sector. This vision led to the creation of Food Machinery Services (FMS), which has since evolved into a leading provider in the industry.
While Chris primarily dedicates his time to managing PEL, he continues to offer strategic direction and support to the FMS team. His commitment to quality and excellence ensures that FMS remains a trusted partner for all food machinery needs, with a focus on reliable, long-term solutions. The day-to-day operations of FMS are managed by Stu, who upholds the high standards and values set forth by Chris.

Morne van Niekerk
Head Engineer | Fitter & Turner | Service Technician
Morne has a wealth of experience in service & general engineering, having worked & led some major commercial projects & teams in previous companies. His ‘know how’ is invaluable as is his ability to find a way to fix those tricky challenges that come our way.
Whether your need is mechanical servicing, maintenance, repairs of existing equipment, fabricating benches, guard rails, stainless-steel or aluminium welding, Morne leads our engineering team that can do it all. He also keeps the workshop humming with no job too big or small.
